چکیده
The evolution of fiber optic technology in the past few decades has led to significant advancements various fields, including high-speed and long-distance communication, big data transport, optical imaging, sensing. However, relatively studies have examined use sensors (FOSs) as point distributed geophysics. Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is a widely used method for subsurface imaging monitoring wells, specifically Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP) surveys. This allows detailed analysis structures properties reservoirs. Four different strategies deploying FOS cables DAS VSP are evaluated compared: cementing behind casing, cable inflatable liner, strapping production tubing, wireline deployment. Cementing casing considered most effective coupling with formation. other methods also their own advantages limitations. example, accessibility without affecting acoustic signal, while tubing can still record signals; noise signal attenuation from annular fluid, however, make it difficult differentiate seismic signal. Nonetheless, this benefit being simpler deploy replace case failure. Wireline deployment pick up some signals regions where touches well wall, but vertical sections not contact attenuated. Results pilot tests field Canada discussed evaluated, suggestions improving provided.

A modular borehole monitoring concept has been implemented to provide a suite of well-based monitoring tools that can be deployed cost effectively in a flexible and robust package. The initial modular borehole monitoring system was deployed as part of a CO2 injection test operated by the Southeast Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership near Citronelle, Alabama. The Citronelle modular monitor...
متن کاملFiber - Optic Sensing of Linear Thermal Expansion (RESEARCH NOTES)
The use of a LED fiber-optic sensor to measure displacement and linear thermal expansion is described. It has a sensitivity of about 0.6 mV/mm, a resolution of 1.25 mm, and a dynamic rang of 400 mm for displacement measurements. For thermal expansion, it shows a sensitivity of about 3.5 mV/C, and the experimental linear expansion values are in agreement with those calculated. The reported senso...
